Hi everyone, We are moving to KL in August and our children are starting at the British International School. My husband is currently living in Singapore and willing be travelling to see us at weekends.

I need some advice on the best place to live. I want somewhere family orientated, accessible from the airport and within walking/driving distance from BIS. I suppose I want everything! I know I'll have to compromise but your insider knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
JP

Hi ask the headmaster..... Oooops you can't as he did a runner in December lol

more seriously (and yes the head run away)in kl  distance means nothing but jams do. Sometimes you can live 20km away and get in quicker than someone 1km away. And so many things come into play I always say don't pick before you arrive get a service condo first month and try school run from different locations to test them.

In kl only the very poor walk. Snatch thieves will attack you with knives walking. Don't risk it some I know have been mugged 10 times and don't report it to the police as so common

Thanks David.

Really, I thought it was a 'good area' that is why we chose that school.  So I definitely need a car then?

u absolutely need a car. u can stay at mont kiara or ttdi aka taman tun dr ismail. both nice expat areas. unforunately the intl airport is quite far out from the city, so u will have to compromise on that. id rather pick a place closer to the school than airport, if a choice needs to b made. ur kids need to make 10 school trips per week, while hubby makes 2 trips. sure ur hubby can manage it :-)
