The person you hang out with is just called "a person with whom you just hangout" or simply "someone you know".
In my opinion, a friend is totally a different person.
someone tells your mistakes, someone who is proud when you did an accomplishment in life, someone who is always their beside you in downs and ups AND someone who is so honest that you have a BO......not the one that steals your GF/BF.....
