Bringing Food Into Belize

travelingwithkids2013

I am by no means a chef, but my wife and I do love to cook.  We will be traveling with two young children to Caye Caulker for a few days and I wanted to bring some meats and cheese.  My kids also have some food allergies, so I was hoping to bring some staples they can eat.  I know that US Customs frowns on bringing food into the country - is Belize as strict?

Thanks in advance!  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

belize forbids any animal products.   the cattle are free from Hoof & Mouth disease, and they want to keep it that way.  The food available here is fresh and organic.  not a huge variety but what there is here, is good.   Please do not bring food items here.  Hope this works for your kids.
