Yes, banking is like anything else in Vietnam. The intrest rate can vary depending on who you know how long you have been a customer. We have one account we are still getting 12%

The problem with the higher interest rate is that the State banking authotity does audits all the time, thats why there are quite a few ex bank employees in jail.If you locked in 12% awhile ago its ok, if you have a large amount to deposit, you also get a better rate, USD is a waste of time, low intrest
