Beware of snatchers!

Post new topic

Two friends of ours (all expats) have gotten their bags snatched. I can't believe I would be a victim to one. Today I was walking and a motorbike rider came from nowhere and snatched my necklace. He was not so lucky however, because he dropped the necklace as he drove away. I will be very careful from now on!!!

:) So many unemployed youths (both males and females) are roaming around HCMC, especially expats area and backpackers area. If you are careless, sure they will snatch your belongings and escape. One time I nearly lost my tablet pc inside Ben Thanh park. But I ran after the criminal and try to catch. Unfortunately he put down the tablet pc and escaped! In another incident near park, one lady stole vanity bag of one girl (that girl come and sit with boyfriend and kept bag her backside. When dating time they forget everything!) and try to escape nicely, but I saw and catch her. Still that couple didn't respond with that criminal. People want to support criminals ( or scare?). If something happen unusually, don't amazed because nobody help here! All you need is self defense!:D Take the maximum power of you and try!

I bought a silver necklace for my fiancee. She wore it on the day I gave it to her and never again because she said it's an easy theft target.

So for guys thinking of buying gifts for your significant others don't buy them a necklace. Expensive lesson learned. :)

Yeah, that's right! Ornaments like necklace is easy to snatch from motorbike while 'they' drive. It's popular all over the world! Here this kind of crime not much because very few people use costly necklaces such as platinum and gold (with & without diamonds)! If you are aware, surely you can wear anything when you go out. But all you need is the courage to face these kinds of accidents. If you want to enjoy outing, better do not wear costly items and do not carry your mobiles phones (so many phone snatching already reported by expats) on hand carelessly. Enjoy your trip in Saigon!

I had my gold watch stolen from my wrist 13 years ago while riding a cyclo. Didn't even notice it gone until it was too late.

So yeah now I dress like a poor man.
