I am au pairing in Paris for 1 year- how can I ensure I learn French?!

I begin a one year position with an anglophone nanny agency in September. I'm doing this primarily so as to learn French. However, I'm a bit concerned this might not be as easy as I originally thought- I am living with another English girl, I can talk to the children I am au pairing for only in English and I can't afford to sign up for French classes. Any tips on how to make sure I do actually learn French?? Thanks!
