arriving in the kingdom in a weeks time

Hi, my husband has just received his visa for Saudi, and will probably be leaving South Africa in a weeks time to commence work there. All we know is that he will be working on site in a place called Khurais. I needed to find out, are you allowed to wear short sleeved shirts in Saudi? I am aware that it is mid summer and the temp soar in the 40 degree mark. Are the men allowed to wear shorts that cover below the knee?

Kindly assist.

Yes to both. At my job, non-Saudi guys do wear short sleeved shirts with collars and ties. On the street, many men (including Saudis) wear t-shirts. And shorts are common, below the knee as you said.

OK! He will be living in Dammam? Or onsite in Khurais!?
