Hi Everyone,

I plan to visit Bangkok and Pattaya in this coming October. I've never been to Thailand.

Could anyone or maybe local Thai recommend some must-see places?
What should I need to keep in mind when visiting? Any ideas would be appreciated! Thank you!=:)

Hi welcome

It might help to let us know how long you are staying for e.g. 2 weeks Bangkok 2 weeks Pattaya.

What are your interests? Culture or clubs for example.

People get better responses here with more specific questions.

Why not check out some of the local blogs too! There's plenty of links on this site.

My own Thailand Blogs has loads of info on what to do here for example

Thank you. My vacation is short, it should be 3 days in Bangkok and 3 days in Pattaya. I am interested in visiting some places with unique Thai features, shopping and places I can find tasty food.

Thai features/shopping/food = Bangkok is by far the better location for sightseeing and shopping as well as providing a huge range of places to eat.

Try to plan places to go that are near the MRT or BTS, taxis are plentyful and cheap but traffic is horrendous.

Personally in Bangkok I like Wat Po, Jim Thompsons house, a river cruise(at night), the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, a canal tour, the list is endless really.

As for Pattaya, well enjoy the beach and sun

Thetefldon, thank you for the advice. If someday you would like to visit China, I am happy to help.

Glad to help. Would love to visit China one day.

Bangkok and Pattaya  is not for you to see if you really want to experience an authentic Thai life. Try to travel in the countryside of Thailand like Nakhon Ratchasima.

Hi Vikings, thank you for your advice. As my vocation is short, I should probably visit these 2 places first. But the place you mentioned, I will keep in mind.

Bangkok is your entry point to Thailand from China. A day or two in Bangkok is more than enough as it is a mega city  just like any other cities in the world. Pattaya is not for an adventurer  but for those nightlife  seekers of fun and entertainment.  There are numerous beaches for you to enjoy like Krabi or Phuket if you prefer to be with a large crowd of holiday makers.
