never in one place long

I will be moving to Panama in August, and wanted to take my 30 plus years of photo's to scan and organize to a digital format.  My question is, will the heat and humidity will ruin them.  Am I better off to leave them in storage, or bring them and do my project?  Is there anything else that heat and humidity have ruined that I should leave in storage?

Hello never in one place long.

My husband brought some photos and had a few get stuck together. Maybe you could store them in plastic bins or bags to keep the moisture out of them? We also bought a dehumidifier and keep it in a room that is designated as the "dry room" for things sensitive to humidity.

We've had the most trouble with leather, shoes, and some clothes, things "organic" that mold likes to eat. Our house has the closet and bathroom together, which isn't the best idea for humidity control. We keep a small fan running in the closet area and a light under the clothes. We squeegee the shower walls after use and remove wet towels, and any clothes that have been worn do not go back in the closet. This, and keeping the windows open for general ventilation seems to be keeping the problem under control.

Where will you be going? Some areas are a little more humid than others. We are in David and it's definitely humid here most of the time.
