How is Jordan in Ramadan. Where to go in Ramadan during the day.

prety_roro

Well , Ramadan in Amman is nice.
The atmosphere is special and lovely.

Hmm most restaurants close during the day but before I think one hour or 2 they open, in order to be ready for the fast breaking time. During the day, I think their won't be a lot to do, because you'll notice that people will be tired and sleepy. :D
But after the sunset, the atmosphere would be refreshing.
I do suggest for you to try eating with Muslims at the sunset time. Its like a family time.

For lunch, sorry but I think you'll have to cook. ;)
And I do recommend you to have a walk or go outside before the sunset time. It's between 5-8 .. It would be calm and peaceful.
Anyway, its still a new experience waiting for you to try and build your own one. But believe me, it worth's to try it.

Good luck ,, :)

I have a question, it is something I don't understand and I hope you will give the reason:

When it is Ramadan it is also the time you get invitations to eat with friends or relatives.
But what I don't understand is why only the men get the invitations? The women and their children are not (it seems that they are) welcome. They stay behind.

And another thing to remember: be sure that you are at your destination before the sunsets!!!
It is not safe on the roads because all the people driving like crazy and don't care about the others.

I think it depends on your contacts normally if your invited to a families house then You all go as a family. The only time this wouldn't happen is if your husband were invited to a unwed males house. Very often men and women eat separately unless you're very close

Primadonna

You are right that men and women very often eats separately.

So what is the problem to not invite the whole family?
Is it because of the space, is it because of not enough food (which I doubt)
