i have an offer from lagos. sales job in a packaging company.

i have three questions :-
1. Company is providing 500$ for monthly expense for a family of myself+ wife + 4 yr child to take care of food, clothing and entertainment. Rest like Furnished accomodation, company car, driver, schooling for child, one servant, petrol expense, utilities, medical expense paid by company.  Is 500 $ enough for food, clothing and entertainment for your family per month ?

2. Is it possible to enrol the child for extra curricular activities like sports, swimming, singing, dance, etc.. in lagos.

3. How is the safety and security of indians in lagos.

No it s not enough at all as here most foods are 2 to 3 times like in France or UK .... no entertainment possible , nothing to go anyway ..... clothes : give up ! much more expensive than France ! but your company pays the difference between your country expenses and Nigeria , not at all what you ll spend

2. Is it possible to enrol the child for extra curricular activities like sports, swimming, singing, dance, etc.. in lagos.
Sure some activities are organized but not all ....

3. How is the safety and security of indians in lagos.
If you follow the security rules all is ok in Lagos but to go to the airport , ask a mobile policeman or an escort car ... a simple driver isn t enough ! they attack many cars asking all assets or kidnapp people ..... ( easy they know your cases are full and you carry a computer , telephone and money etc )

I think it is good to ask people who are actually FROM a place to verify things, not only visitors as they may be one sided, especially as they do not really know all the city or might be usually situated in Victoria island or ikoyi.
Question 1: 500 dollars isnt satisfactory in Nigeria for your family, many people can manage on this, and do survive with this but for the kinds of things you want to enjoy with your family, it may be insufficient.
2.There are indian communities in Lagos, you might want to connect with, and ask more questions, i am sure they will know the kinds of things you want which is more suited for your lifestyle and family
3. as for where to go and relax, they might not be thousands of places but there are, for those of us who cannot afford to play golf in pretentious ikoyi golf club, there are serene nature places like tarkwa bay, your children can play in fun turf in lekki, or apapa amusement park, or muri okunola gardens, la campangne tropicana (more exclusive and a bit far)
4. In terms of safety i think it is unfair for someone who freely goes to ikoyi club to play golf and hasnt been kidnapped to spread fear on someone else. google indian communities in lagos, and tell me how many indians have been snatched on their way to the airport. Crimes happen everywhere regardless of race and color. Goodluck

Oh and food is cheap and fresher when you visit REAL markets, not shoprite or horrible supermarkets with frozen everything
