Three pin plugs are not very common.

Converters (2 to 3 / 3 to 2) are easily available everywhere. You'll need one because your house / office might use different pin plugs.

you can simply get a universal adapter and you will be covered, but there are many places where you can get adapters here in Saudi

I would add NOT to buy the cheap adapters (they have a tendency to melt lol  seriously!).

The plug won't melt ever necessarily but did you ever notice the sparking sounds while plugging/unplugging? That's even not good for the poor appliance.

I don't think anyone would like to mess up his expensive device trying to save just 5-10 SAR.

I haven't. But then again I don't unplug things often at all :S But you're right, of course no one wants to risk their expensive device. I don't understand electricity enough to argue against that.

I have also bought some cheapest but in few days it melt .. Dont know Why !

How dare you?  Nonsense??  Just because it didn't happen to YOU? 

Well it DID happen to me.  TWICE.  It may have to do with using high voltage appliances.  Happened once with my hairdryer and once with a clothes dryer.

And, as TLL mentioned, the sparking sounds on the other appliances is common with the cheap plugs. 

Considering that the 'expensive' ones are all of about $5 (compared to $1 for the cheap), it's not really a huge investment to insure your electronics.

The most-common plug is the two-pronged ROUND plug. I stress on round, because it's the not the American one, with flat pins.

The UK-version 3-pinned plug-points are also becoming popular especially in newer buildings. Most of the new coffee shops I have been to, have the three-pin plug-points, but adapters are very easily available.
