Considering a position in Doha with Houston Community College Qatar.

Hello all,

I'm a college instructor and accountant (MBA/CPA) considering a position in Doha with Houston Community College Qatar.

HR says the offer follows the Houston salary schedule ($60K) yet the Houston/Qatar contract shows the position to be $90K. I've been told folks have accepted the Texas pay rate and moved to Qatar with their dependents.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated,

Hi Kathleen,

I am also considering a position in Doha with Houston Community College. Maybe we'll meet in Houston. I have three boys and I'm so worried about leaving them behind. I'm also worried about finding them a suitable school. It's kind of crazy right now for me. It seems like a good offer, but I heard that the cost of living in Qatar is very expensive!
