Sure you can--I do it all the time!

From my experience, the only blocked sites are religious or sites that can in any way be construed as having sexual content.  Probably some political sites are blocked, too .. anything having to do with Israel (?) but I'm just guessing on this.

your info is absolutely correct bur when there is a will there is a way.When i came to Saudi i was orkut user and it was blocked so I had to use alternative resources:P

I agree with u but sometime there is some usefull material on those sites so there should be some way to enter on these sites.:

there is a free software called Hotspot shield

it can let u get into blocked sites ,,
without paying a penny ..

im a pro used , im using another software but not for free

Well,My husband is very fond of bollywood movies and the gossips and the websites are blocked with no valid reason so he has to use hotsopt shield...simple

and yeah he is nice has drawn the lines himself so no tension

What is that can u explain in details and let me know.

The Good thing About Saudi Internet is that they are not blocking SIP Voice server - so its very good as compared to UAE ..

The do have a very strong Monitoring Agency which have blocked thousand of Illegal ( adult site , social site like orkut)

For orkut i don't understand  why its blocked and facebook is allowed.
- So Facebook is a better option when you are coming to saudia

and as the experts have already said - there are ways around for every thing... VPN is a good alternative ( if you have good knowledge about this Term )

There is uncensored internet available; Orbit Satellite Internet, but the quality is terrible; with slow up and download speeds, the customer service was non-existent whenever we called and it was terribly expensive.
