Hi guys I'm an Actor/ Director mainly theatre based and wondered what opportunities there might be for mi in Malta.

I have many other strings to my bow but would like to be involved in the arts if possible.

So I know about the Theatre in Valetta but are there any others on the island (I didn't see any) or any theatre companies any one may know of?

I also ran my own theatre schools in the Uk and wondered if there are any there or if maltese youngsters may be even interested.

Even though I'm not terribly enamoured with Tv are there independent production companies any one may know of?

6 years ago I was asked to play frankenfurter in the rocky horror picture show in malta but couldn't renew my passport in time so was very upset to miss that opportunity.

Anyway anyone have any pointers at all would be brilliant.

Kindest regards Jay.

It's nothing like the uk that's for sure, and in terms of anything to do with the arts it's not well promoted so hard to find until you start to tap in.

The place to find out about most things here is  Facebook, join one group and then  see what others belong too and you follow a trail which uncovers more and more

I'm not certain you would find enough demand or not

Hi Jay,
There's St James Cavalier - the Centre For Creativity (www.sjcav.org).
They are currently working on the 3rd edition of ZiguZajg, an international arts festival for children and young people. You will find info about last year's edition at www.ziguzajg.org and www.facebook.com/ziguzajg.

Charlo

Hey Julian

Malta is steeped in the arts and as Charlo said earlier that is just one of many 'ins' to get yourself networked.

Here are a couple of things you may like to consider........

Masquerade in Malta

Stagecoach in Malta

and of course there is also the fabulous annual event that is.....

The Malta Arts Festival

As with most things creative I feel sure that another persons perspective and experience would be welcome in Malta.

Good luck

Mike
