Hi, Im planning to go to Puerto rico fro one year, does anybody know how I can get a car rent a car through a private person?

I'd recommend to buy a used car (check f.i. http://www.clasificadosonline.com , one of the best sources) and sell it when you're leaving.

Just wondering, do you have a visa to able to stay a year? Without visa your stay is limited to 90 days.

You've probably noticed this, but renting through a car rental company is very expensive in PR. You're always paying top dollar. I've never heard of someone willing to rent their car for a year. I'd try to posting in clasificadosonline.com to see if there are any takers. The biggest obstacle is how would you be able to insure the car if you don't own it? If the private owner maintains ownership, then his/her insurance would be void under such an arrangement and the car would be uninsured, which I believe is illegal under PR law.
