Hello,

Can someone please advise my internet needs !!?

I am only on the island for 6 months but I'll need the internet.

My issue is that most of the providers offer a minimum of 12 months subscription !

Is there any way round this ?

Cheers !!

ricky

Hi,

Do you want internet at your home or mobile on your laptop?

The best way around any contractual charges ís to use the services through your landlord and you pay him. To have services in your name you need the Maltese ID card otherwise the phone companies charge you hefty security downpayments for the modem.

Check out the Maltese phone companies for mobile offers. I know that Melita offer a pre-paid internet connector on a monthly basis. I think it costs 23,-€/month plus 100,-€ for the stick without a contract.

Go and Vodaphone probably have similar offers.

...another option, we prepaid our home internet connection with Melita for a similar reason, they originally wanted a 12 month commitment but we only had a 6 month lease on our apartments, so they let us pre-pay 3 months...worked out well. I don't think they advertise it - but if you call or probably better go in to one of their outlets they should give you that option. You may need to show a lease - can't remember.
