Hi,

For the ones living in Brisbane, what would you suggest to discover the region?

When you have friends or family visiting you, where do you go with them? What are the must-see places in Brisbane, the tourist sites?

How to visit the region in an original way? Any unusual or unknown place to recommend?

What would you suggest for a couple of days of for a week of holidays in Brisbane?

Thank you in advance for participating ;)

Not much to see in Brisbin - inner city along the river. market street/Queen Street Mall/ Botanical Garden are the main tourist areas. However, full of homeless and burglars hence better no explorations after dark - it's dangerous when you don't know where to go!

You can drive up Goldcoast or Sunshine coast for a nicer experience but it's a 2 hours ride.

There is so much to do.  A visit to Mount Coot-that is fabulous as are the botanical gardens both at the bottom of Mount Coot-tha and in the city.  A ride on the City Cat is fab, southbank is amazing and well worth a visit to the beach in the middle of the city!  lovely restaurants there too.  The shops are all around Queen Street Mall.  A bit further afield you have the sunshine and gold coasts.  North Stradbroke Island is fantastic and very picturesque, Mount Tamborine is fab (think bush walks, markets and crafts and wineries), Australia Zoo and Mooloolaba, Caloundra and Underwater World are always on our guests to do lists as are the theme parks towards the Gold Coast. Sirromet Winery is really lovely and relaxing.  The Glasshouse Mountains are again so lovely.  Brisbane and its surrounding areas are anything but boring and certainly not dangerous. Rarely see any homeless people and feel much safer after dark in Brisbane than I ever did in the UK.
