We're brand new to this site and just wanted to say "Hello" from New Orleans, LA.  We recently purchased a sailboat and are now trying to sell our home and everything else in order to become full-time cruisers on a sailboat.  We can't wait to get to Isla Mujeres, Cancun, and all the other beautiful spots Mexico has to offer. Hope to see you in about a year!

We're keeping track of our transition at Mid-Life Cruising!!

We'd love to hear some suggestions!

Welcome on Expat.com Midlifecruising!

To prepare for your eventual entry to Mexican waters, I suggest you look into a Mexico boat liability policy as part of your risk management planning.  You can obtain one online and print from your own computer & printer, as for example from: Mariners Mexico.

The site also has an English translation of the Mexico Immigration FM-1 in English which I haven't seen elsewhere.  Patience required, it's a large pdf.  You can't submit that in English, it's an English translation for reference use.

Happy cruising!

Thanks Carlos!  We'll definitely be looking into this.  Can't be too careful nowadays.  Maybe we'll meet in Mexico someday!
