Moving from America to Scotland

Post new topic

Phebe

I'm seriously thinking about moving to Scotland. It's actually something I've wanted to do my entire life. I also want to publish my books and do Celtic Studies.

Does anyone think they can help me with any of this?
What all does it take to move to Scotland?
What type of sponsorship would I need?

Those type of questions.

Hate to burst your bubble, but you can't just up and move to the UK.

You'll need to come over on a work or student visa (assuming you don't have a British fiance).

For a work visa you'll need to have a job and your employer would have to sponsor you, but it is INCREASINGLY hard to get a work visa because of the new points system.

For a student visa you'd need to be accepted by a university and be able to prove that you have enough funds to support yourself while undertaking the course.
