Best/most popular data/mobile prepaid service?

Hi all,

Before I arrange a long term lease I will temporarily (one month) live in a short term apartment. This of course means that I am in need of some kind of prepaid service for the first couple of weeks as I am a heavy call, sms and data user.

What I am looking for is more or less:

- Unlimited calls and SMS

- 10-20 GB of data

for a one month period of time.

So, "who" do you recon I should choose and more importantly where do I buy this without the risk of getting scamed?

Hello kent

you can use Malaysian local service mobile provider Maxic or Celcom you can make calls and use internet as well ( Unlimited calls and SMS
). But you need register first with them, they will ask your passport for register . Please check package with them .When you arrived at the airport you can buy the Sims phone card and check with them .

Hi in Malaysia you will be dissapointed as speeds are low, prices high and stability issues. As an expat you will be expected to pay a 500-1000 rm deposit as well.

I use yes4g and prob best for a starter package. For those who need internet for work you will at least two service providers to allow for outages.

Thanks Nemodot! Yes4g, do they have actual shops where I can purchase there starter packs or do I have to order them online?

Once you settled down, of course the best would be to get Unifi fiber optic for your condo or appt.

To apply you can walk into any TM counter to inquire whether its available in yr condo.

Again, thanks for the info. This will be good to know when I start hunting for a permanent condo; I presume the condo owner/negotiator will be up to speed on this information in any specific condo.

The best is to talk to the tenants or neighbour of the condo you are eyeing at.

My client an expat from UK actually got a round around by TM, they kept saying his condo does not have the service until he spoke to the tenants renting upstairs and downstairs of his condo.

Most owners would say it is available to hike up the rental, hence its best to talk to the tenants living there.
