There are people, specially women, who want to be anonymous to protect them for unwanted mail from goatish men.

No, it is not useless, because picture in profiles is one of my criteria to reply to forummers.

On the other hand, team members are best to set an example of how a profile should be set.

P.S. I am aware that forummers may upload a pic which is not theirs.  This is the world we live in.

I understand and completely agree with Primadonna's point.  Maybe it's harder for men to understand.  Or maybe some of them just don't want to understand.  If profile pictures ever become mandatory, I will take mine down.  Fortunately, Julien is not an egomaniacal control freak.

When I joined this site I was immediately inundated with PMs from horny Arab men.  Call it discrimination, profiling – whatever you want – but in my experience, most of the horny men who PM total strangers are Arab.  Then someone on one of the forums said that I was Jewish and the PMs dropped about 90%.  My advice to anyone getting bombed by horny Arab PMs is to let them think you're Jewish.  This won't stop the less racist horny men, though.
