Hi lauralane78,
I don't live in attard exactly but I live In Balzan with it's very closed to Attard. I have been there few times has my wife works in Attard for CareMalta and from what I have noticed, seems to be a nice and quiet place to live. If you have kids, there is a really nice playground in Attard called the Kitchen Garden which is great for the kids. You also have Anton Gardens closed by which it's also lovely to go there for a walk. Transports wise, you'll find buses from Attard straight to Valletta and to other areas in Malta. In regards to shopping, there's also at least 2 big supermarkets over there, one is Scot's and the other one I can't remember the name 
, but I have been there few times and it's quite big.
