Rajakarcis is a good site to see what big bands and DJs are coming up (they sell tickets)

Otherwise there are a few free magazines, you can usually pick up copies in Arcadia near Plaza Senayan

After that try 100 best bars in Jakarta, it has a good overview of clubs, bars etc if that is what you are looking for

what I'd like to explore, although it's good to know..)

Things like Festivals that go on for days, like food festivals, film, music
or any events as such may be the stuff that I'm looking for.
The problem is that the small events sometimes not being published on papees
or sites,-

To be honest I have not worked out how to find out whats going on myself. Maybe whatsnewinjakarta as Luke says, or just read the Jakarta Post

It's a good one though. I guess maybe the best way is to get the stuff randomly from everywhere.
