recognizing an American degree

Post new topic

Does anyone know of an agency that can help an American graduate get their degree recognized? I have been living in Italy for over 20 years so I am doing it 'backwards'. I already know for a fact that you must do it in the States, but as I no longer have ties there, that makes it extremely difficult. I already have course info, transcripts so that part is no problem. Plus I've also translated the info.

Has anyone ever had this problem before?

Thanks a mil for whatever help you can offer.

You will have a LOT of difficulty having a degree recognized there as they have different requirements to fulfill their degree. I know of a girl who had graduated here in the US, and some of her classes were able to transfer when she wanted to study in Italy. Other courses were required to be fulfilled in order it to transfer. So in essence, she has two degrees but only one is recognized by Italy. She was also not able to do a Masters, and could only complete a Bachelor's. She would have to do more schooling in order to now get a Masters.

As far as recognition for a job, I don't know the answer to that.

Best of luck.
