Hello everyone.

I had a problem with the laundry I was used to go.

I brought my trousers and shirt at the same laundry since two months: Giặt hấp cao cấp Lê Thanh, 310, Võ Văn Tần - Q.3.
Last week they said they lost one of my trousers. They can't find it back. I told them that I bought this trousers for 800.000 two months but they don't want to refund me higher than 200.000.
What can I do, is there some legal way to get my trousers/money back ?

Thanks for your attention.

Cheers. :)

Buy a new pair of trousers, don't sweat yourself too much.

Don't know about VN, but in the USA this is the normal course of action. They never pay what you said you paid for them. Obviously they are not worth what you pay for them once you take them home. But they also figure in depreciation. This is just how it goes it seems. Fortunately with a good laundry it does not happen often.

Be happy they willing to give you 200.000.

Yes not much you can do, take the 200 and be done with it.

Hi,
If you can collect evidences, you absolutely can claim any case. However, is it really worthy to do that because it's waste of time and lost more money.:)

In this case, it's better you should talk to the owner of the shop wisely and strongly by showing the receipt and picture of your lost t-shirt, then tell them you will inform local police and claim them to damage your belongings (you definitely can do that). Ask them whether they want to continue their business or you will let the public and neighbors aware of their irresponsibility with customers, then they will lost many patrons as well as get a bad name.

After scaring them, bargain for a reasonable price of reimbursement for both you and them (Anyway that's a secondhand clothes!). Let them know you may be continue to use their service if they have a right behavior.

And next time, you should wash yourself or change another shop then.:)
Good luck

If they agree to pay 200.000 that's a relief :D
If you go legally you will lose the money for 5 pants plus time!

If you don't like the advice on taking a 600,000 VND loss, then you can always exercise your right to go to the local ward police and file a complaint.  And if you believe they stole your pants, you can file a theft report.

When something likes this happens I just figure it is my cosmic share for reparations.  600000 really is not that much to worry about.  Just my 10,000 dong worth.

You're lucky they've even admitted to it. Most places would have given you the "waving hand" treatment.

I know of a good attorney who can resolve this for you. He will guarantee you get your lost cloths back and he has never lost a case. He only charges $25,000 USD. Me I decided to forget about the lost cloths and put the attorneys fees toward the purchase of a home. Good luck though.
