Hello Fellow Expat Forumers:

I'm a new member. I'm a retired Canadian whose passions are writing and travelling. 6 of my plays have been produced on stage...four premiering in Toronto, one at the Broad Street Playhouse In Philadelphia and one at the Pier Theatre in California. I am currently working on my first novel and finding it a real slog. I now respect anyone who can write 250 pages of prose...even 250 pages of semi-bad prose! I have been fortunate enough to see a lot of the world but I still have a lot more to experience. Just before sitting down to write this, I was finishing up my packing for a trip abroad. All for now. I must save some gossip for later future forums. Keep well everybody and be kind.

Happy days,

Gengent

Hello Gengent,

On behalf of everyone at Expat-blog, welcome on board.

I'm a Canadian living in Brazil for almost 12 years now. I was born and raised in Hamilton, ON so have many fond memories of times spent in your neck of the woods; Midland, Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Owen Sound, Goderich and the like.

I also lived in Vancouver and area for over 28 years before coming to Brazil.

I teach English to top-executives, teach Portuguese to English speakers, tranlate texts and have written 11 textbooks to teach English as a second language since coming here. I really enjoy live theatre and would love to hear much more about your works. Perhaps it would be a great topic for you to post here on the Canada Forum, I'm sure it would be extremely interesting for our members.

The key to writing 250 pages of semi-bad prose is to not count the pages until you're finished.  Just write as semi-badly as necessary and when it's finished, it's however long it is.
