Hey Everyone. I'm gigi from egypt. me and my family have applied for immigration to canada and are hoping to move there soon. we have been stronlgy discouraged by alot of ppl. saying that it is extremely difficult to find jobs in canada. And to be honest we are pretty scared. because we don't want to just finish the money that we have with us right now and end up returning to egypt with nothing.

I am currently studying engineering in egypt. I was hoping that i could get my degree from canada instead because the standard of education is much higher. but i was hoping to reside in canada permanently.

Please if you know anything from your own personal experience about jobs, the standard of living and studying in canada. please tell me!!! i really need help because it will affect my plans! thanks alot.

Julien

Welcome on board gigi,

Employment situation looks alright in Canada! There is always somebody to discourage you when someone wants to live abroad. Have you looked in the "Living in North America forum"?

All my wishes of success in your project :)

Nath

Bye for now

SHARON

Hi,
I'm a Scot married to a Frenchman and living and working in Hurghada Egypt as a General Manager of one the hotel chains.  My husband (he is a qualified divemaster) and I want to completely change our lives and move to Mauritius for a while and if we get settled why not live there.  We have a house in the south of France and we had thought about La Reunion because of the administration, social security etc.. but we are pulled more to Mauritius.  Could anyone give me advice on finding jobs, we have sent some cv's by way of internet, how much is flat renting etc...
Any advice would be most appreciated.  I am not looking for a top management job by any means, a tour operator, receptif, excursions guide would be perfect.

hope to hear from someone soon
regards
sharon
