New Mobile Phone Use Laws for Pedestrian??

Post new topic

kevinson

Hi,

Pedestrians will not be allowed to use mobile phones while walking in public places, while crossing roads or while using roads.

This law will be in force as from January 2014.

If you are caught by police officers breaking this new law, you will have to pay a fine.

Whats your views concerning this issue?

ExGerman

Well the law is based on a statistics saying that lots of pedestrians are just using their phone when they were inflicting in a road accident.

According to another statistics practically in 100% of all road accidents one or more vehicles are inflicted! Wow - so if we now simply no longer allow the use of vehicles we will avoid practically all road accidents. Thats simple logic, isn't it?:lol::lol:

Bullshit law.

If we consider mobile phones are a source of accident in Mauritius, then Motor cars too are a source of accident in Mauritius where people are dying everyday.

There is no common sense in this Law.. Or the ministers were high at that time.

What is the use of a MoBILe PHONE??

to keep it in our pocket and to show the world we have a mobile phn???

But wat if a person dies really in accidents due to the careless use of mobile phones on roads? A mother losing a child? A wife losing his husband? A brother losing his sister etc etc????

ExGerman

Come on - I get your point and loosing somebody close to you is always hard. But what now? We will no longer allow the use of fans because they might explode? Life is dangerous as such - we can't forbid each and everything just because we're worried something could happen. The point is most probably the 'careless' issue. But how to make sure nobody is using his car, his mobile, his fan etc etc etc in a careless way??

If you read well the article published about this law till the very end, you will see that the article was a joke. Yet everybody took it very seriously and didn't bother reading the last few lines.
