Camiguin Island is the smallest province in in the northern tip of Mindanao, North City of CDO or Cagayan De Oro. They actually have the mixture of both Boholano and Cebuano culture. The people are very religious, hospitable and friendly like in any other places in the PI. People there can speak  English and Spanish though Cebuano (bisaya) is the major dialect in the Province. Many exotic food and delicious food you can avail for reasonable price. A friend of mine use TO visit CDO back and forth and they love the place.

Camiguin is known locally reputedly the best spot to observe the GOLDEN SUNSET, for which the island is famous, as the sun sinks behind White Island, just offshore, and disappears into the deep blue water of the Mindanao Sea. COOL RIGHT? For people who love nature and watch the sunset, I would say this is the place to be.

The island was born of fire and has to be explored:Try Climb mount Hibok-Hibok,relax in White Island – a tiny sliver of pure white sand beach 5 km out to sea, explore Mantigue Island – a true tropical island, with only a fishing village to see, aside from white sand beaches and pristine blue water, enjoy the refreshing Waterfalls – Both Katibawasan Falls and Tuasan Falls offer scenic tropical areas. But ask around for some of the more remote, local waterfalls to avoid the tourists like Ardent Hot Springs – natural hot volcanic water makes for a warm soak.(You mus get there early to avoid the rush), Soda springs,  Clear springs … lots of springs – Someone on Camiguin got a bit carried away with naming “springs” everywhere. Most of which are far from natural looking. In fact many just look like small man made swimming pools. But, locals enjoy them, so they are a national favorite here. There are a few small hidden natural ones,Sunken Cemetery the favorite place on Camiguin. Take a small boat over coral covered tombs lying under the sea. It’s only about 5 minutes across. Or, swim around the tombs. It’s not creepy as they look just like rocks now. But, please see my criticisms of Camiguin further down in this article as it might be gone soon!thelongestwayhome.com/blog/philippines-journal/camiguin-island-the-good-and-the-
