Advice again please

My husband and I are looking forward to snorkeling in and around Hurgharda but I'm wondering should we bring our long or short wetsuits not sure what the temperature will be in January.
Does anyone snorkel and could you provide us with information on the from shore snorkeling areas and which company would be best when taking a boat?
We like to keep costs down so are looking for a budget company don't need all the frills.

Thank you

Jean

I guess you don't have to worry about companies of snorkeling, there is a lot which easy to find.
my experience was in Sharm.
If you have a wetsuits better to take them,or you have to rent, which I guess not cheap.
I rent one time a mask and it cheaper to buy new one. Which I did at the end.

but snorkeling was amazing.
I have no idea about the weather in January.
have good vacation.

Thank you for your reply, I have decided to take my full wetsuit but hubby only has a shorty so this will have to do.
I wear specs so have a prescription mask and am looking forward to the trip.

We have three weeks in Hurgharda and 3 weeks in Sharm, could you let me know where you snorkeled and the company you used. Is there any shore snorkeling would you know.

Try looking for information on Tripadvisor about diving companies.... they have very good forums on that sort of thing... just search for Hurghada and Sharm and you will find info on many things

Kareemp

I was there last summer and I tried in Ras Mohammed, it was good and we liked a lot.

You can search on Tripadvisor as Mrs: Tigerlily advised and you'll find for sure.!
There is  lots of companies there and I think no need to worry  cause they gonna show you their boats and the places which gonna see and diving in.
Have a Good trip
And wait to hear from you after the trip.

The temperature is currently 9 degree celsius at night and between 22 -24 C during the day.
People are wearing a jacket. The water is rather cold to be honest, I would not swim until the end of February.

Hi everyone
Here we are in Hurghada into our 10th day, We brought our wetsuits and glad we did because the water is chilly and it means we can stay out longer.
Our hotel beach has a developing coral reef just off shore so we can snorkel whenever we want which is wonderful and quite a nice varied collection of fish species.
I saw one man walking on the coral and when I spoke to him about it he said he thought it was alright if you had shoes on.
The coral was breaking away as he walked I was very cross that in this day and age people are not aware of the damage they can cause.
We did a day trip  picked us up from the jetty next to our hotel went to two snorkeling areas with a beautiful established coral reef and many different fish species wonderful colours.
The down side was the many people you are with and some have no idea about snorkeling and he get hit in the face with arms and flippers, in addition to this you meet up with dozens of other boats and hundreds of people all snorkeling in the same area.

Kareemp

Yeah, lots of people and boats goes to the same areas cause its two famous places to snorkeling. that was in Sharm.
when I tried it last year, it was wonderful as you described and specially colored fish.

I had the chance to see one fish, has the same color like sand and even it discovered under sands when it lays and moves and make the sand cover her. just Impressive.  :)

If you thinking to make Safari Trip the best time to enjoy it is at the Dawn.

Please, I'm interesting to know if there is a lot of people now in this part of the year.?

have good time there..
