3) I read on one post that I shouldn't bring anything that plugs in. I think this was referring mainly to large appliances, TVs, etc. What about my laptop, tablet, Xbox, or Wii?

You can bring electronics devices. Just like laptop , tab, etc.
Just go through the passport authority website and check the list of items you cannot bring. Its very easy.
