Extra Curricular activities in Damascus, Syria

Hi,

Im moving to Damascus this august for a year as part of a degree course in arabic. I was wondering if anybody had any details on music and dance classes or sports clubs?

I was really interested in learning belly-dancing and an arabic musical instrument, something very traditional, as well as joining a sports club.

Any information on this?
