Sadara New Employee Wives

Post new topic

Ruby_2013

Hi!

My name is Sarah and my husband is soon to be starting with Sadara with his training in Texas and then I will join him when he gets back to Saudi after this.  Thought we could start a little post for us to all say hello and stay in touch, if people want to that is.

So……
I'm Sarah
30 (just!)
No kids yet
Love doing anything crafty, motorbikes (have my full licence which is gonna be a shock to the system to not drive or ride!), meeting new people, chatty and generally easy going.

:) x

Hi Sarah, my wife Yana does not come on  here but she will be joining me after the girls finish school so early July.  I will b e there from end of April if all goes to plan. Have 3 and 5 year old girls so should be an adventure for them as well.  Compound is nice apparantly and not massive so will be good for socialising. Be great to start meeting up with all the people we have "met"over the internet.

Hi Sarah. My hubby Chris is going to Texas too. I'm going out for a little bit but will join him properly afterwards in Saudi.

Cris is a motorbike instructor too and we both have bikes so I'm not going to be happy not being able to get about! :(

Ladies, must be something about bikes and Sadara. I raced for 13 years and still build race bikes now, never been away from bikes since I was 15 and that was a long time ago. Think there could be some trips to see the racing at Bahrain etc :-)

Sarahp21

This is spooky....my other half James is mad about motorbikes (he used to race) and I passed my CBT this summer. Must be something about Sadara and employing motorcyclists!! I would have probably looked at getting myself a little 125 to get used to it and then work up to doing my full license but there's just not much point now. Maybe one day!

Anyway, I'm Sarah and have chatted with a couple of you before. This thread is a great idea though, good thinking Sarah (the other one...am not talking to myself!) :-) I'm 26 and James is 28, no kids but planning on bringing our two cats out with us. I'm staying home in Yorkshire whilst James is training in Germany, and then will be joining him in Jubail. He is due to fly out to Saudi on 15th Feb. I had my medical at the same time as he did in Nov last year, but as they only last 90 days, I expect I will have to do it again after the guys finish their training before we all head out.

Will be great to be able to put faces to names when we get out there! It will make it all a but less scary if we feel like we know each other a bit! :-)

Real bikers ride Harleys lol. Stu13, im well up for the Motogp jaunts. Not long till everyone gets moving from what it seems.  Im heading out on March 8th.

Im Ruby 2013 husband so its nice to see the introductions are taking place

Sarahp21

Stu, James is planning on getting an off-road bike to feed his racing appetite. Go and thrash about on the sand to get it out of his system! Looked into getting a road bike but heard horror stories about driving cars, never mind riding a bike which is why he's thinking if sticking with off-road. What kind of racing did you do?

Motogp jaunts sound ace Gareth! :-) James is going to be so pleased when he sees this, we don't seem to have many friends who are into biking, and now it seems we'll all be living in the same compound.

toofast4u

Ive heard the horror stories also but thinking im going to try a road bike over there. Ill give it a chance and if I dont like it at least I can say I tried it.

I done a search for a second hand harley so ill keep my eyes open.

Stu13

Gareth my mate that is over there now is sad as well and just bought a Harley. One day you will see the light ;-)

Sarah I could be up for a bit of playing in the sand, started off with MX in the early 80s in South Africa. (bad thought there, that was before you and James were born!!!) I raced MX for 4 years out there but my main racing was road racing in the UK from 1992 till 2005 all on 250s of various sorts. I was a decent club racer, won 2 club championships and tried British championships but did not have either the talent of money to make it :-( Enjoyed and still enjoy building race bikes and will be leaving my Spondon RG500 for a mate to race whilst I am away. Its a bit special and cost me a lot of time and money but I did not build it to store it.
Cheers
Stuart

Its so nice to see so many people starting to get chatting on here! Just what I hoped for when creating this post.  So funny to see that we all so far have a link to motorbikes, for those who don't, well i'm sure we will persuade you!  I can see mass get togethers for watching races on tv too  ;)

toofast4u

I'm going to miss my harley here so it's just a home comfort in saudi. Plus plenty of a sunshine to enjoy it.

You've been about Stu 😎

Hi I'm Lindsey, my husband leaves for Saudi on Saturday 1st Feb. He will be training in Texas.

I am assuming that Ceri, (above) is the Ceri we know!!

Will be moving out later in the year with our daughter, (8years old).

toofast4u

Hi Lindsey, Ive been talking to your husband over the last few months.

Not long to go at all for him. It will be nice to put names to faces in due time :)

Stu13

Should be quite a few kids out there as well. I know of another from falkirk that has 3 and 5 year old girls, another American couple there already with a 6 year old boy and a new born boy. Hope the international school can cope!

Stu13

For those on facebook set up a Sadara expat page. Will post a link if I can later but on a tablet at the moment and can't.  Just do a search on facebook for Sadara expat and you should find it.

Hello everyone!  I'm Jolie'...The Hitt Family!  I'm so glad my blog has been helpful to some of you.  I only started it to keep a journal of sorts for myself and my family, but it seems that many people coming here with Sadara have stumbled upon it.  I'm 30 and have two sons, ages 4 and 2 months.  We are now located at Al Jude 2 in Jubail.  Looking forward to meeting you ladies!  Thought it was appropriate to add that I do not ride motorbikes haha :)

Stu13

Hi Jolie, welcome to this forum, if you are on facebook there is a group set up now for Sadara Expats
facebook.com/groups/272695562885315/
You would be most welcome to join. Seems most of us here will be on a different compound and not even sure where it is?? Have you any idea where Al Jude 2 is on Google maps?
Cheers
Stuart

There's a Harley shop on the northern ring road in riyadh. You pick up a bike through them. There is an active bike club in riyadh but not sure about Jubail as i dont spend the weekends there.
