3G Network in Mauritius

Hi,

I'm running an online business and I'm planning to live in Mauritius for a while. But I'm concerned about the time required to arrange an ADSL Internet connection for the house that I will rent. I guess it takes more than a month, but I will need it immediately. So I will have to use 3G from Emtel or Orange to get online as soon as I get to the island.

Is there anyone out there using 3G? How's the coverage? Are there any problems in any region? Which one is better: Emtel or Orange?

This issue has critical importance for me. Please help! :)

Cheers,
Ozgur

Hi dear.

I am using a 3G key (Orange) since August 09, and this is a very very very (...) big mistake I've done! It is a prepaid system, I buy 1 Giga for 1 month, at Rs 600. You also have a post paid system, but the quality is simpply the same...

The connexion is slow and I cannot go on every websites. Msn signs out every 3 minutes. Moreover, you cannot use it everywhere (omg it is still called Internet EVERYWHERE, what a lie!), that's why the sellers always ask where you live before delivering it.

My ex boss has the Emtel one, and she told me it's the same...

Cheers and good luck ;)
