First Cyprus, now UK

Post new topic

John C.

Cyprus shocked the world when Cypriot Banks blocked accounts completely.  (Later on, account holders where given shares in the predatory banks, but who knows when the depositors are going to be able to get their money back).

Now in UK you cannot withdraw large amounts from your fat account.

Prove it: Bank blocking some customers from making large withdrawals without ‘evidence’ of spending need

Is the world going crazy?  :o:unsure:nothappy:

I know, John. Sigh. The excuse is the "terrorism" hoax, but the real reason - as far as I can imagine - is to impose a comprehensive, tight, exchange-control in all the major trading countries at least. I suspect (italics, yet!) that they will leave the Offshore tax-havens alone for the time being, so that the politicians and bankers themselves retain a safe place to hide their bribes. What do you reckon?

Fred

This sounds more like a bank security issue than a "I'm a Greek bank and we've all gone bust" sort of thing.
However, it's up to them to sort their issues out without messing customers around.

Hello Gord,  :D

1). I am really impressed by your computer usage progress. You can and do really italicize now ... Who would have thought that?  :/

2). Banks want your money so they can make money, and, even if it works against depositors, we must admit that for Banks to stay in business they must always find ways to cheat on us and lie through their teeth to our faces.
Now that we know the truth, we must strike back.

3). It happened to me once for the Bank teller to ask me what I need the money for. She was very young and very pretty (something which sends blood rushing to my temples and other body parts) and I replied trying to put a straight face that I want to give cash to the poor and since in St. Lucia there are many poors, I need a larger than usual cash withdrawal.
She immediately laughed saying she too is poor, and gave me MY MONEY.

Fred,  :o
What planet are you on? Mars?  :o
The situation is deteriorating so fast that Banks do not want to give you your money:mad:
What proof do you need to see clearly what's going on?  :unsure
In five years you will have to go to the Bank with your entire family to take some cash out and five years after that, you will have to take all your creditors to the Bank to pay the one who lent you first.
After that, not even I - a futuristic humorist - can say what will be ...
