Weekly Writers Workshop - Lets Write A Book - "Expats in Portugal"

Post new topic

1World Traveler

By day, I am a freelance writer, and then I sleep. Expat stories are full of flavor, texture and culture. I'm interested in hosting a writers workshop with expats, and native Portuguese, who wish to document their expat adventures for a book. The workshop would be located in Sesimbra by the sea.

No previous writing experience necessary. The time and day to be decided by the group.

Hello Traveller, :)

These days seminars can be had online through Skype, and you will get more participants, more stories, more diverse opinions, more news and more chances of success.
Do you agree?  :unsure

Hi, thank you for your reply. This workshop meets weekly and you are in Hong Kong. I've been to Hong Kong, how do you like it?

Hi John, I guess we could have two sessions one for physical members and one for remote members... I play tennis and live in the Virgin Islands for a few months out of the year :)

What about Skype? Do you know the time difference between Portugal and Hong Kong?

1World Traveler

You can write about living in Hong Kong.

1World Traveler

yes... We would need to change the title of the book

Hello Traveller, :)
I am glad you are open-minded and accept the idea of online meetings.
This could be done even for your local members, it saves time and ... preparations for breakfast.  :D
This time of the year is perfect for Caribbean cruising.

For time zone differences and Daylight Saving Time observance I recommend http://www.worldtimeserver.com/
In St. Lucia where I live, DST does not apply.

Just so you know, you don't have to click the submit button after every sentence.  You can put them all together in one post.

Yes, but then we wouldn't catch up with you on your high number of posts.  :o   3350

Hello Traveller, :)
1). I wish to be in your expat adventure book.
I assure you that you will get more than you bargained for. My story is truly unique.  :D

2). There could be a second book as well.
Is there a reason not to?

Hello !World, :)
How is it going?

1World Traveler

Hi John, I am working on the website and will be getting started in about 30 days. I'm very excited but I need the books to sell and that means I have a lot of work to do before we start the workshops.

Enjoy the sun and the sea, we are shivering in Portugal and swimming in rain water.

Be Well,
Nancy

I think the Skype workshops are a great idea, but as I have no friends or family in Portugal, I need to make an effort to meet people to create a life for myself here.

Hope to hear from you soon,
Nancy

Hello Nancy, :)

As I write this, we just got a heavy rain for 15 minutes which only helped clean the dirt and dust.
At this time of the year we get sand from Sahara travelling west with the winds and everybody gets a bad type of flu for 3 weeks.

Of course you have lots of work to do.  The world is waiting to see with what you come up.  :D
Can’t wait! …

Thank you John.

Be Well,
Nancy
