How do you report landlord for maintenance neglect

rami2014

is it a villa or flat? is your land lord a local emarati or an expat that is having a number of flats/villas rented? first you have to talk to the contact person, be it the maintenance manager or the owner of the flat/bulding/villa, if you rented flat/villa was choosen by the hr /housing department of your company you can report it to them and at the same time to the contact person of the said property,  you really have to make a follow up every now and then if nothing happens with your request, you do not have to act so demanding or errating when requesting for such maintenance jobs, should it be included and written in your contract prior to accepting the flat/villa then you have the right to demand, if no action had been taken for a long time that will result to discomfort and endangering your health YOU can immediately report it to the BALADIYA city health office or official, you can only do this if your situation is worst, should the situation still acceptable try to be more patient and keep on calling and makes follow ups with the maintenance you need.  good luck.

Rental Dispute Committees
In 2010, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judiciary Department, issued an ordinance to set up committees to help solve disputes between tenants and landlords. Currently, residents in the emirate of Abu Dhabi can take their complaints to these Rental Dispute Committees, where issues can be resolved informally and without the need of lawyers.
