Dear friends,
I am from Virudhunagar, Tamil nadu, India, I would like to know the status of Teaching profession in Shanghai? Can anyone guide me?

Hi !

There are international schools in Shanghai and other cities in China .
Yes , many other other Indians are teaching in the schools but in other subjects like maths, science,history,,,,,,,, but for
English teacher post there is written particularly native English .
So there may less chance for this subject. You must try finding job before you move to China or Hong Kong.

Thank you so much for your immediate reply!

What you said is cent percentage correct, I also searched many sites for looking for a post of Teacher in English. But they expect "Native English Speaker".

As you suggested me to look into, I do further. And, if you come across any "teaching position in English (Non-native) like Indians for us, please let me known. Once again I express my gratitude for you reply Anita!!

Note: I plan to do a certificate course in TESOL in May 2014. I was told that TESOL would be very helpful to those who are seeking job in China.
