I understand about the double tax treaty between malta and other countries. Would there be any capital gains taxes payable in malta if we are resident in malta on property outside of malta? Also does anyone know if inheritance or death duties apply on malta. Thanks

I'm not an expert on tax but my understanding is that if you are tax resident in Malta you only pay tax on monies remitted to Malta.
Tax on capital gains would be paid in the country in which it was earned.

Inheritance and death duties again would depend on what country you are talking about.
You would be well a advised to talk to  a tax consultant in Malta and also get a local will sorted.
