Anybody know if i can get hurricane/flood insurance in sosua and is it necessary as it seems nobody has it?

Bob K

yes you can and it is very expensive.  You also cannot get insurance for just he Hurricane season but need to pay for a full year.
We have insurance on our condo (contents and liability only) as it is a rental unit. On our villa (large home) we do not carry any insurance. I think the premium was $3,000 5 years ago. We have a friend who just bought a small two bedroom villa and she is paying over $2,000.

Our friends that are paying $2000 for insurance also just bought a small house there.

Are you planning on moving here full time or is it a vacation home and rental property for you?
