Don't be.
It's a good topic, even if it's off topic.

As long as no one is getting angry with other forum members, I suspect no one will shout too loudly.

Anyway, back to topic; you followed your husband as I followed my lovely lady wife.
I don't know about you but I believe I made the right move when I did so.

Yes those taxi drivers are really annoying. There are the Indian gangster taxi drivers outside KLCC and the Chinese gangsters drivers in Bukit Bintang and Chinatown. The standard of taxis is so much lower than in Indonesia. Actually I can't wait to move to Bandung.

I found the taxis in KL to be fine, once I'd worked out how to nego with them - this commonly included a lie or three, usually pretending I'd lived in the city for a long time.
I know KL pretty well, especially the Chinatown and BB areas where I know pretty much every ally and back street.

As for comparing between the two, Blue bird and express are generally very good, BB being the better, but there are many seriously dodgy taxis here as well.

I met a few of the Chinese gangsters in Petaling street, even had a swearing competition with a guy from the DVD gangs, but I know nothing of the Indian lot.
At the time, my mandarin was pretty good so I suppose I would get to know the Chinese population better. Sadly, in KL, the majority prefer Cantonese, but a hell of a lot can speak mandarin as well.
"Porno, porno" comes the shout from the DVD sellers.
"我不希望他们。我不是色狼", I replied.

The more serious problem in KL is the scammers but perhaps that those stories would be better in the Malaysia forum.

Hahaha...yes it all contributes to me asking myself why am I still living in KL with my Indonesian wife and kids. That's part of the reason why we spend half our time in Bandung and can't wait to move there full time.

Well i may live in indonesia yogakarta because of my wife. But atm i still in kuala lumpur. Off and on onces a month i be around jakarta and joga. 2nd reason is the food in indonesia, loves the nasi padang and some types of food. Its mild less oil and not too rich in spices compare in kuala lumpur. Hotel stay is the best in yoga, less crowds and the food and hospitality is excellent. One of the best is hotel Tentrem in yoga.

My reason for moving to Indonesia is firstly that I lived in Malaysia for about ten years and it is time for a change. Secondly, my wife is Indonesian and my kids have dual nationality so we decided to move to somewhere nice and relaxing and cool and without too many foreigners which happens to be Bandung. Thirdly, Indonesia is one of the most beautiful countries in the world with amazing countryside, delicious and varied foods, a rich culture and some of the nicest people you could wish to meet.
