Job market in Paris???

Hi all

Just wondering what the job market is like in Netherlands for English-only speaking Aussie if I get a working visa?

Just curious to see if
1 - I need Dutch, or English is acceptable
2 - If there is any jobs to be had?

My experience is admin but I am happy to take what I can get!

Hi Connie,

First: do you want to go to the Netherlands or to Paris?
Second: getting a job without the Dutch language is almost impossible, unless you're a high-skilled immigrant. These immigrants have a degree and/or many years of work experience.
You don't say anything else about your background, therefore I can only give you the generical advice to apply for a job in international companies. Many of them have their headquarter in the Nertherlands.
Tell me something more about you (studies and/or work experience), so I can give you a more specific advice.
By the way, your first language is English and you could have a better start compared to someone who speaks a "little" language, like me.

Good luck,
Licia

Thank you for your reply. I have strong background in administration but happy to do anything! Is it a bad time to think about a working holiday visa??

AussieConnie

How do I apply for international companies like you suggest?

NorthernStar

I'm sorry but, as a EU citizen, I don't know anything about visas, because I can live in any EU country without any visa. I suggest you to contact the Australian embassy or consulate, they will give you all the information you need.

As for the international companies, I mention some of them and their site:
- SHELL: http://www.shell.com/global/aboutshell/ … .html.html
- DHL: http://www.dhl.com/en/careers/working_a … zBhI4VzpY4
- Booking.com: https://workingatbooking.com/?dcid=1&si … b76&st=top

There are also many multilingual job agencies that could help you:
- Europe Language Jobs.
- Randstad Multilingual.
- Unique Multilingual.
- Adams Multilingual.
- Undutchables.
- Together Abroad.
- Top Language Jobs.
All these agencies have a website with all the available jobs you can apply for.

Other 2 sites came to my mind:

These are only few of the many organisations that could be useful.

If I can give you an advice, in your cover letter make clear that you really want to move to the Netherlands and work just for them. Job givers prefer people who live already here, so a strong motivation to move here could raise your chances.

Cheers,
Licia

You could also try to work as an au pair for a family. They usually offer accommodation, meals and pocket money, in exchange of housekeeping and/or children/elderlies/pets care. And you could also help their children to improve English.

I suggest you 2 sites:
On this sites, you can create your profile and send your application to the families.

Be careful, because scammers write you pretending to be a family. They offer you too good salaries, send you fake pictures and contracts, and if you send back the fake contract they ask you to pay for the visa. They write inconsistent things in a bad English.

To know more about scams: http://www.scamwarners.com. This site deals with all types of scam and users can give you advices to recognize scams and what to do if you've been cheated.

Good luck,
Licia

In Holland there are plenty of vacancies for managers, engineers, doctors and many other. Here doctors and nurses lack, you could be really useful!

Health care is private, so hospitals work like any other company. You could make a list of hospitals located in the town you prefer and send them your CV.

In addition to the sites I recommended Connie, there are also many specific sites to apply for health care jobs. I mention 2 of them:
- http://www.hollandnursing.com/en/welcom … rsing.html
- http://www.hollandhospital.org/jobs/searchopenings.aspx

Good luck,
