Anyone for a flutter on the top four finishers?
Here's my prediction
1) Spain
2) Brazil
3) Argentina
4) Germany
England to go out on penalties in the 1/4 finals after Roon the loon gets a red and an early bath...

That would never happen in a major tournament would it Mind you we haven't been in one since 1990 Toss up between Spain and Argentina for the winner I think.
My money on Spain or Argentina too... but wouldn't count out England as they don't have Portugal on there side of the draw
1) North Korea
2) New Zealand
No...more likely to be
1) England
2) Spain
Good start for Bafana! A repeat of 2002 for Les Blues??!?

Yawn. Henry's appeal for handball summed up the French desperation!

Agreed, though only 2 goals scored far!

Start of the game, the French were looking tricky, but that fizzled out! Henry's handball appeal... hillarious! And ironic for the 'gentleman' of world football!
Sandman, I'll be shouting for my fellow Africans against those Argies!

There's another oxymoron - Maradona appealing for fair play?

Wait until Cristiano Ronaldo and Drogba accuse each other of diving on Tuesday!
Is South Korea the only side who can be bothered to get off their ar$es and do 90 minutes work?
Might be... But they did play the Greeks...
And England Terry Venables pre match prediction of England imminent world domination seems like a good guess
I didn't watch the Argie game, anything worth writing home about?

Nigeria were either asleep or stoned for the first 20 mins and were lucky to be just 1 goal down at 1/2 time. Messi showed some brillance but didn't get enough support for it to make a difference. Nigeria came back with a few attempts from Taiwo among others but the quality of the finishing was poor.
What can you say? Perhaps my 4th place prediction was too conservative?
Mind you, the Serbs don't care too much for them.
1- austrilia
2- greec
3- algeria
4- serbia
i must be kidding :p
1) England
2) Brazil
3) Spain
4) Libya not in million years
To echo Sandman... The Germans have reappeared on my radar!
The Germans do as they always do - good discipline, keep playing as hard as they can until the final whistle, score as many goals as they can. Fair play to them. The only thing I am not so sure about is how they managed to get a Brazilian into their team...

Obviously used the same agent who gets all the Saffers and Zimbos into the England cricket team
Well done the Kiwi lads!

WTF were Spain thinking of?
Spain, France and Germany lose. And after seeing the first half of the Algeria-England game....England are in real danger of joining their ranks.
Another shockingly poor England display, with so many squandered chances. Why oh fecking why does Capello persist with donkey Heskey?
Fabio has got to play Crouch and Joe Cole from the start. Thank God Carragher isnt eligible for the final group game. He is a total liability. 4-4-2 doesnt cut it at this level. The rest of the team better find some passion and self-belief or they will have their backsides handed to them by Slovenia.
Sorry-o for Bafana Bafana and the Super Eagles. Both teams played their hearts out but too little too late.
Yes, played their hearts out, but its not meant to be.
Though good things come from this... At least the Greeks and French are out!

Interesting, since everything hinges upon Rooney, who hasn't done diddly in the first two games. Heskey's a donkey of the highest order, but at least he's put in a workmanlike performance for a change.
Using Cole puts a spanner in the works since it means Gerrard would have to play in tanden with Rooney, which has never brought the results predicted.
Give the captain's armband back to Terry I say. If anyone can motivate the rest of the team it's the Chelsea shagger
Is there anywhere worth going which is showing the England vs Germany game live on a big screen?
Hubby went to the main cafe beside Green Square. The one that has a big outdoor area and two story building. He said it was okay. They have a big screen out back with chairs and tables. The Waddan Hotel is showing the games, but I think you have to reserve seats. There is a big tent by the sea beside Bab Bahar Hotel that is showing it in 3D. They say there are two tents, one a bare basics tent and the other is air conditioned with refreshments provided. Cannot say whether they are worth it or not, but at least there will be a change in scenery.
OK great...our packers are coming Sunday and we'll be TV-less
So you got guys coming in to pack ur s**t for you ?
Sounds like fun for the giving end : )))
