Hi! I am from Venezuela. My husband and I are very interested in moving to Iceland and open a coffee shop-restaurant there. We have some saved up money in US dollars. We are a young couple, I am 28 and he is 34 years old. We don't have kids yet. Since the social and political situation in my country is so doubtful, we have done some research on our options and Iceland seems to be pretty much THE PLACE for us. We are very eco-oriented and nature lovers. We have read one is suppose to have a job before hand, in order to get an employment or residence, but we want to open our own little business in Reykjavík so we would be going with an invesment plan. My question is, What is the legal process we would have to follow up in order to move there? How hard it is open a small family business? We are planing on investing around $50Ks-70ks (us dollars). I would highly appreciate any help or advise. Can't wait to hear from you. Thank you so much!

Have similar interests. Different business, however.

Would be interested in answers to the same questions.

Legal process to starting a business, or taking over a current business, and process of residency therein.

I looked around on the web - this URL may help.  http://www.lexista.is/index.php?option= … &Itemid=62

Corporate forms seem to have a modest capital requirement.
