Watching right now!! England 1/USA 1.
GO USA!!!
I don't generally care until the quarter-finals, and even then not much.
But am laughing my butt off today...England 1 - USA 1. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
If we can't beat USA there is no chance.
No more footy for me.

Remember 1958, dave?
Italy 1-Paraguay 1. That was a surprise!
Paraguay defense was really strong.. and Roque Santa Cruz is all grown up. First time I saw him playing in World Cup he was a boy, an up and coming star, and that crazy Chilivert was the keeper. Great team!

Am not a soccer buff but do watch scome games of the WC as time and inclination permits on Al Jazeera Sports Channel. Rather dull game for me with very little versatility of skill as compared to Cricket or Rugby.
I will back the Germans to win.
There are always two teams I don't want to win and Germany is one of them! Their arrogance in the past has alienated me.

I am not saying I support Germany. In fact I dont support anyone. But I think the Germans have a good outfit to win based on my very lean knowledge of the game.
I Am from SA have only been here 2 months and some, back home the SAfricans all think Brasil will win. I dont actually watch because I dont like soccer. Am very glad not back home - the noise of those vuvuzelas are undescribable even on a normal soccer day - they tried to ban them before the Wcup - but the community refused. I also wonder if any of that community is actully going to work during the day, the Govn must have made a one month pubic holiday; or so it seems.
You know.. I love world cup but have never had a desire to attend a game because I'm quite certain I'd resort to violence if I some idiot behind me was blowing on a horn (or pounding on a drum!) for the entire match!
Am sure by the end of this World cup there will be a few of these pipes rammed somewhere where the sun dont shine
I can see any match with our local TV we should go to coffe to see it we had no special staliet to have these privat channal
ilemi.com is a free on line chanel to watch the world cup games. Depends on who is playing, sometimes you get to learn a different language in the 80 minutes that you watch.

True. All the commentary here is in Arabic Good thing I don't need to understand it to understand the game; that said, I do miss the odd bits of background and history injected by American commentators.
(Ironically, the Arabic guy never shuts up but I rarely hear him mentioning the players by name so I wonder what he's gabbing about ?!?)
Also miss the Spanish guy who yells, "Goaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal!'
And finally, let me mention that the Greeks seem to have been studying the Italian method of play because the Greek player took a dive and put on a show of being 'hurt' yesterday that would make Marcello Lippi proud (and got the Nigerian redcarded)!
Now come ON, forum members!! I need somebody to discuss this stuff with and your apathy is disappointing!!!!!!!
Holy shit.. Klose got red-carded.
Can't believe this... the refree rubbed that game from USA for sure!
I agree (and coming back from 2-0 was pretty incredible).
One thing I must say, I've never seen so much hanging on to other players in my life! Those Slovenians seem to really like Americans, couldn't keep their hands off us!

thats the "open" european culture
I've only been to one soccer game in my life, but did enjoy the few minutes of the US game today. They did amazing in the 2nd half. I was surprised that the Refs didn't watch the game film and change that call. I guess they don't do that in soccer. Too Bad for the US, it could have been a GREAT win! I plan to watch the next game - it was exciting!
CAF, I've been hooked on World Cup since '94. Try to watch every game (being in Saudi is good, timewise, for these RSA games).
GO USA!!
Allie - Ill be back on Wednesday and I think thats when the game is so I hope the jet lag doesnt get the best of me! lol:/
CAF,
Yes, Wednesday's games are very important. Not only how we do but how England fares will affect our outcome!
wow..anybody been following the reports on the internal problems with the French team? And now, 6:20PM Tuesday night, they're losing to RSA 2-0.
I think it's all over for them.
Hey .. and is anybody ELSE losing cable transmission for most of this game or is it just happening in my lovely compound?

I've always insisted that France is a one time wonder in the world of football, the great Zidane is no more, france wins the cup no more :p
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
USA, NO. 1 in C GROUP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting games tonight...
My favorites, Germany, are in the final 16... naturally!
Happy for Ghana too, at least there is still an african nation in the next round...
And really good job by Australia despite being disqualified, they saved their energy for the second half and put the game away
Nice stuff tonight indeed
Wow ...Italy is making a very disappointing showing this time around!
Indeed Alliecat, yet I can't deny it makes me happy when the underdogs play the game their way and prove that football is about perfomance not names
I agree about underdogs! That said, I think USA stands a good chance of making the round of 8!
I'm trying to figure out a way to sneak out of work early tomorrow lol
USA Vs Ghana Today
Ghana has beaten USA once earlier ....
But Usa is looking a better composed team this time..
Will be interesting Match
