Why does the new year start in the middle of April?

Our Indian calendar year ends on 13th April n New year begins on 14th jus as Chinese New Year falls on end of Jan instead of 1st Jan
Yes of course officially world over d Gregorian Calendar is followed but our cultural celebrations are big events so am looking for other Indian Bengali who will join me.
