Hi all,

Does anyone know of any maternity medical services available to foreign people in Dalian?

I need a doctor who can speak English (and is kinder then your usual Chinese doctor) and a clinic or hospital where the conditions are better.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,
Rebecca Hu

Did you have a cold or something?

sorry,just kidding.

I mean don't you have any friends there? The local people is more familiar with local Hospital.By the way, the big hospital has English sign, you can easily find a doctor, but it's better if you can speak a little Chinese.

Hi, It's Joseph. I called several hospitals for you and finally got one. The Affiliated Zhongshan Hospital of Dalian University near Zhongshan Square (the former name called Railway Hospital) has VIP clinic where there are English speaking sevices for maternity. The number is 62893653. Hope you get better soon.

Hi,

Thank you for your replies.

@Traveltotibet, Of course I have friends here but none have had babies and maternity units are quite specialist. My husband is Chinese and I do speak good Chinese however the medical terms are quite hard to understand. I would prefer English because it is my mother tongue. You are right, it is easy to find a doctor, there are many of them but it's about finding a good doctor! Most of them are rude, grumpy and don't make me feel very comfortable.

@lyg7703, Joseph, thank you so much for your post! I will call them soon. Once again, you are a star!

Hi Dalianxpatman,

Thanks for your post but I've checked both and the one that had good standards does not do maternity.

I will go with lyg7703's suggestion... the maternity unit is beautful. Thanks again!

Kind regards,
Rebecca Hu

Hi Rebecca,
I know that post is old but I was just wondering if you were happy with the hospital that you chose ( I understand that you opted for Affiliated Zhongshan Hospital of Dalian University, please correct me if I am wrong). How did everything go? Did you also give birth there or only going for check ups? I just moved to Dalian and found out that I am pregnant. I have 3 kids already who were born in China but another city so I am familiar with Chinese hospitals and would love to find the best hospital in Dalian. Any advice that you could give would be highly appreciated .)). Thanks
