MoEl

I always wanted to know more about these men's works.

I ordered a couple of books off Amazon, and I reckon am also willing to purchase, receive and distribute few more copies and host a weekly or biweekly meeting if someone is up for a good read and is able to contribute to, hopefully, an equally good discussion.

Edit:

P.S.

FYI:
I am brown-skinned. I am a native speaker of Libyan Arabic. I can wear a suspicious black beard and/or white turban.
If the above, or other things may intimidate you, please take a hint and stay away.

MoEl

Fair enough.

I am not really brown. It's more like light olive. Handsomely tanned though.

You may have to consult a pasta chef on that one.

The Rough Riders, and The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Rough Riders is available free online from Bartleby.com

That's a tad beyond my humble cognitive abilities. I am not smart enough to read an entire volume on a computer screen :)

MoEl

Stick, was there another reason you asked what titles I am getting?

Hi MoEl

The reason I asked was simply literary curiosity. I actually downloaded Rough Riders myself and it will join the queue of books for me to read. I am always looking for new material to read.

I also prefer to read paper books rather than read them on a computer screen but recently I read some of "The Begum's Fortune" on my computer and quite enjoyed the experience.

My comment about Rough Rider's being available might have come over as  a bit terse or sarcy. It wasn't meant to, so apologies if it did. The comment, although in response to your post, was aimed at others who might want to download the book, read it on their computers (or print it out) and join your discussion group.

Yes, from bartleby.com. I thought I had posted a link to download the text but it's not in my post. Perhaps I forgot!! So here it is...

Rough riders

MoEl

I actually was looking at that page as I wrote the last post. I'm not seeing a download link. Is it a PDF file?

Stick

No, you have to double click (or right click) on the text for each chapter. You can then copy and paste the text (or read it online),...for example

I. RAISING THE REGIMENT
II. TO CUBA

Right clicking on that text (on bartleby's page) will take you to another page with the text for that chapter. Below are the first two chapters.

Chapter 1
Chapter 2

If you want a PDF file, you might find it on another site but bartleby.com has plain text.
