What kind of weather do you want? Belize has a climate similar to the Ecuadorean coast, so either would do if you like a tropical climate. If you prefer something cooler, then Ecuador's mountains would probably be better for you.

The best advice I can give to you is to browse through both forums and ask questions there.
You get answers from people who already live there and from the locals as well.

To me it is not clear why you cant make up your mind.
